Technical Education

The main aim of technical education is to acquire technical training/skill which enables a person to earn  livelihood with honour and dignity. For this purpose, a number of institutes have been established throughout FATA.

The following courses are offered in Government Colleges of Management Sciences:

a)    D.Com                 Two years

b)   B.com                   Two years

c)    BBA                      Four Years

d)    BIT                       Four Years

e)    DIT                       One Year

The following courses are offered in Government  Technical Institutes:

a)-   Diploma level courses (DAE) 3 years offered in Telecommunication, Electronic,   Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, Mining & Petroleum Technology.

b)-  Certificate level courses of various duration (6 months, 1 year and 2 years) are offered in these institutes in different trades like Electrician,  Welding,Carpentry, Auto Mechanic, Tailoring, Survey etc.

FATA DA has taken a number of decisions to revamp  this sector. New projects have been undertaken. Various technical institutes are being improved through different strategies.  New subjects have been introduced in some of these institutes.

It has been reported that the passed out students of these technical institutes have found jobs in the reputed organizations of the country. Moreover, a number of these trained youth have joined different companies/firms abroad. They are regularly sending their remittances  which has greatly improved the living standard of their families.  22 students have so far completed Graduation from GIK Institute while 39 students are currently enrolled. Moreover, 40 instructors of various Technical Institutes of FATA have been trained in Chinese language at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Peshawar.
