In a step towards mainstreaming of FATA and improving the life standard of the women folk in the tribal areas, on the directives of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra , the FATA Development Authority has been tasked to start construction work on Women Vocational Training Centres at Miran Shah North Waziristan Agency with a cost estimates of Rs 38.851 million.
The vocational training center will offer different courses about Computer/IT Training, Health Management, Knitting/Embroidery, Cooking, Sewing/cutting/tailoring, Mosaic and Canvas/Glass Painting.
In each of the above category, about 25 students will be enrolled which will benefit the students to become a skilled worker nearby their localities. This will be a source of income for the female and resultantly improve their living standards. Moreover, it will also be a source of improving the women literacy in FATA as well as job opportunities for the local people.
Sources in FATA DA told this correspondent that currently no such vocational training facility is available locally and the students go to faraway places for enrollment in the vocational training institutes at Bannu, and Peshawar. He further informed that the Government and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resolve to bring in a change is being materialized so that the FATA youth could be mainstreamed and their talent could be used productively.
